This university project briefed to design a new innovative outdoor cooking stove for a the "amateur weekend hiker", using the brand goals, aims and influences of the company Nike.
Building upon the strong Nike brand identity already established in the company’s wide range of products Cook + features a bold colour choice , enhancing the visual impact of the design setting it apart from competitors which all use very tractional colour and styling cues.
The design must remain simple to operate with minimal controls and set up procedure to enhance the common problems of existing camping stoves that discourage users from enjoying the activity. Completing the project taught me how to interpret and follow a brand style guide and apply it to a innovative product, as well as appropriate prototyping methods to produce an effective design.
